The meeting at Great Missedenden yesterday shows the depth of feeling about High Speed Rail. The hall was completely full, and police were called after many people were turned away.
The Department for Transport should be organising these meetings, in venues large enough to cope with the numbers of people who are coming to them. They should be holding a number of meetings in different parts of the route, in the Chilterns, Aylesbury, Brackley and Kenilworth.
Don’t blame the organisers of these meetings if they are too full for you to get in: they are doing what they can, with the venues that are available to them.
