Ask your MP not to waste our money on HS2

Have you signed the HS2 appeal on the Friends of the Earth website yet?

As they say

Our railways are in crisis but MPs will soon vote for the final time on spending what will be at least £55.7 billion on the wrong plan: High Speed 2 (HS2).

Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn support it but just 1% of the public say HS2 is their top spending priority.

HS2 is likely to attract economic activity away from the North of England. There are far less expensive ways of providing the capacity and connectivity needed in our rail network.

The government has ignored expert opinions and stronger plans for too long. And the economic, environmental and human costs are vast.

Act now: Ask your MP not waste our money on HS2.

  1. I did this fine and noble thing…my MP replied… may be a stock reply … but suggested that I email Chris Grayling directly….even supplying his email address.

I have done this but the evidence so far is that nobody in the Westminster bubble is listening least of all him. It surely cannot be that they are all blind to what is going on here?

  2. Do you become ejected in a month for this mistaken project by state led theft of value by forced expropriation. This is out of step with the 21st century not for your benefit. Royal Assent makes this even worse for many people and farmers losing land.
