From the Archives: Joe visits Ed Miliband’s office on Great White Elephant Hunt

In light of Ed Miliband’s current views of HS2, we thought we’d show what happened  on the Stop HS2 Great White Elephant hunt in 2011.

Joe Rukin hunts the Great White Elephant, trying out the constituency offices of Nick Clegg in Sheffield and Ed Milliband in Doncaster. Joe & Ellie also visit Rotherham, Barnsley and Wakefield.

Joe talks to staff at Ed Miliband’s office, where he can explain some of the issues with HS2 and why it won’t help local transport problems. “They were receptive, they were looking forward to seeing us.”

Mark King exhibition

Photographer Mark King talks to Broadcaster and Journalist Carla Delaney about his work called ‘Intervention’ featured at the Buckinghamshire Open Studios at Marlow Place in Marlow. It has attracted strong media attention as he has used lasers to depict the route through beautiful countryside which the controversial HS2 is planned to follow.

The work was on display as part of Bucks Open Studios and is on view on his website at markkingphotography.com
