Meet the Media Events Tomorrow

Philip Hammond is due to hold a press conference about HS2 tomorrow morning, with a statement in the afternoon, when route changes will be announced.

It is our understanding that these ‘route changes’ are the ones that were already made public, in September, before Philip Hammond visited the areas affected.  Whatever the national press might think today, at the time, local press, described the changes as ‘tweaks’.  Moving the proposed railway line a couple of hundred yards will make no difference to the business case or the environmental case nationally, and at the local level just change who is directly affected.

Some of the local Action Groups have arranged “meet the media” events, so that the people affected can tell the press how they feel about Philip Hammond’s announcement.

Burton Green approx 3pm-4pm  (world cup style).  The Peeping Tom, Cromwell Lane, Burton Green CV8 1PL.

Great Missenden Memorial Hall, Great Missenden, on Monday at 11 am ready to tell any media people you come across how angry you are. And take as many people with you as you can.  More details on from Wendover HS2 Action Group.

Middleton BBC Midlands Today will be talking to local people and filming in the area – phone Ian Waddell 0121-308-3740 to be involved

PS If there is an event in your area not listed here, please add it as a comment below, or email it to info@stophs2.org.
