The Stafford County Show opened today but the organisers say it is under threat because the proposed HS2 rail link would run straight through the show ground and slice it in two if it goes ahead. The show usually attracts more than 75,000 people over two days and has over 400 exhibitors, livestock and a country pursuit arena. Farmers have been meeting in Staffordshire to voice their anger over the impact of the HS2. They say some farms will be destroyed by the line, as well as woodlands and beautiful scenery.
