Tomorrow, the Coventry Telegraph is hosting a debate on HS2 between Jerry Marshall and Bob Ainsworth, MP. Jerry is chair of the AGAHST Federation of Action Groups Against High Speed Two and Bob is MP for Coventry North East.
The debate will be at the Coventry Chamber of Commerce’s Oak Tree Court Conference Centre, Binley Business Park, Harry Weston Road, Coventry, between noon and 1.30pm.
If you are local to the area and would like to attend the event, you can email events@cw-chamber.co.uk to book a space – although one of Bob’s conditions was that the audience was not full of anti HS2 campaigners.
In addition, the Coventry Telegraph will be hosting a live blog, so even if you can’t get to the debate itself, you can follow the proceedings on the internet. Martin Bagot will be updating it with what is being discussed. In addition, some of the questions put on it will be posed to the debaters.

We attended this meeting on Friday but, despite raising our hands, we did not get the chance to speak. Bob Ainswort kept insisting that he was representing his constituents. We actually live in his constituency and have since written to him to inform him that he is certainly not representing us as we are wholly opposed to HS2, not only because of the financial and environmental implications, but because we fear it will wipe Coventry even further off the map.
