Safeguarding directions for Phase One of HS2 now issued

HS2 Ltd announced this morning that  safeguarding directions have been issued for Phase One of HS2.

According to their website:

Safeguarding is an established part of the planning system, designed to protect land which has been earmarked for major infrastructure from conflicting developments which might otherwise occur.

If you are a property owner, or are interested in safeguarding from a compensation perspective, you can find out more in the property owner section.

If you are a Local Authority or a developer or are interested in safeguarding from a planning perspective, you can find out more in the developer and local planning authority section where you can view the Safeguarding Guidance.

Maps of the safeguarded area are available in the maps section.

Details of the differences between the consultation route and the maps can be found here. Please note that there are some areas which are currently not safeguarded because the Secretary of State is considering changing the plans in the area.  This may change later.
