Countryside Campaigners and Birmingham Businesses Picket HS2 HQ

Last week, campaigners from the Steeple Claydon area went to the HS2 Ltd HQ in Bimringham to deliver a petition, asking for the HS2 CEO Mark Thurston to come and explain himself to them. They were met at Snow Hill station by business owners from Birmingham who still haven’t been paid after HS2 Ltd seized their land last year.

This is how it was reported on the TV news in the two regions.

Spend the HS2 Money in the North says Aylesbury Question Time Audience

Wigan MP Lisa Nandy said she couldn’t justify HS2 to her constituents, Jacob Rees-Mogg MP said he would cancel it immediately, and with the exception of just one person there was no love for HS2 on Valentines Day, as the BBC Question Time audience in Aylesbury said the money earmarked for it should be spent in the North instead.
