HS2 Ltd announce Phase 2a consultation events.

As part of the current consultation on Phase 2a compensation, HS2 Ltd have today announced a number of roadhsows in Cheshire and Staffordshire. The whole point of having a consultation on the compensation scheme seems rather bizarre, as you would think that whatever happens, the scheme would have to be the same as the one now operating on Phase 1. If a new scheme were to be better than currently, that would be unfair on Phase 1, whilst if a new scheme was worse, that would be unfair on Phase 2a.

So the most likely outcome is that there will now be an expensive and completely pointless consultation exercise, which will pretty much completely ignore all the responses from the public, then conclude that the same schemes as are being used for Phase 1 will be implemented, proving the entire consultation process was a sham.

The seven events are listed below and take between 12-8 on Weekdays and 10-5 on Saturdays:

  1. It is quite clear that, if HS2 had not held its so-called consultations, it would have been submerged in a total quagmire. Of course, it would then have claimed that no one objected, so how was it to know. Murphey’s Law is now McLoughlin’s.
Dear elector, we have a manifesto (with lots of detail you would not want to waste your valuable time over) and you voted for us, so you agree with everything we do.
By all accounts, all political parties “agree” HS2 is “vital”:
    The people say
    good schools are vital
    good hospitals are vital
good roads / railways are vital
a fantasy (duff) line for the elite is…..not vital.
