  1. Good God. They can’t decide where to build a new airport, so how can they plan new rail infrastructure to complement it?

    If they built a new airport at Ashford and added a runway to Stansted, running a North-South HSR up the East coast instead it would provide weather resilience for Europe as well as Heathrow.

  2. So according to Mr McLoughlin this morning we must build hs2 because we haven’t built a new line north of London for a hundred years.
    That’s me convinced that we must borrow at least 33 billion more!!
