HS2 is the opposite of reducing carbon

At a New Economics Forum debate on HS2, Mayer Hillman of the Policy Studies Institute says we have to work towards zero carbon emissions. As HS2 is set to increase travel and at unnecessarily high speeds, the project is set to do the opposite.

Note: Policy Studies Institute is a research institute at the University of Westminster.

As Mayer says “HS2 is the opposite… it is more carbon intensive.”
