Coventry City opposes HS2.

Following a short debate last night, Coventry City Council voted unanimously to oppose HS2.   They recognised that the HS2 station in Birmingham would not bring benefits to the region as a whole, just to one part of it.

You can read what some of the councillors said in our press release .  There’s a Coventry Telegraph report here.

Warwickshire County Council will vote next Tuesday on the issue.  Stop HS2 will be holding a demonstration before this meeting, between 9am and 10am when the meeting starts.  The location is Shire Hall, Market Square, Warwick CV34 4SA.

Staffordshire County Council will be voting on HS2 tomorrow.
