Dirty Mavis produce new Oak Tree Lament Video

Dirty Mavis have tweaked their video for the Oak Tree Lament, to include more of the places which will be destroyed if HS2 goes ahead.

Whilst all the footage for the video had been shot on the same day, there had been problems with some of the tapes and footage, such as Guitarist Mike Hannon getting butted by a goat whilst filming at the former Birmingham Airport Maglev in Burton Green were lost. Sadly that gem is lost forever, but urban areas have been added to the video.

The first place to be included is Chelmsley Wood, which some of you may know better as where the tower blocks are by Junction 4 of the M6. Mike & Martin Davis are stood on top of a skate ramp, which along with other parts of the Bluebell Park including several football pitches will be lost if HS2 goes ahead. There is still little awareness in Chelmsley Wood as to where HS2 would go.

Second to be added was a street in Ruislip where residents have found little in the way of answers as to whether HS2 Ltd would need what their specifications say is a standard 100 metre construction zone. Mike and Martin are less than 50 metres from where the line would go. This scene was shot round the corner from the school in which ‘The Inbetweeners’ was filmed where HS2 will go through the playing fields.
