Exceptional Hardship – Success in Turweston

The Government have accepted a villager in Turweston’s application for EHS.  The individual needs to move due to ill-health.

The applicant lives about 300 metres from the proposed route: following the route re-alignment in September, the railway will be in a cutting around the edge of the village.

The next step is that the property now has to be valued at HS2 expense. A  list of approved valuers will be provided. The owner chooses one valuer and HS2 the other. HS2 then appoints them. The average of the valuations used if within 10% of each other.  If not a third valuation will be required.
