Convention Update – III

This article is about the 2011 Stop HS2 Convention. For details on the 2013 Stop HS2 Convention, click here.

Thank you to everyone who has ordered tickets for the Stop HS2 convention on 19th February at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

We’ve emailed all the people who have ordered tickets on line – if you ordered before Friday lunchtime and haven’t heard from us, please get in touch and we will sort it out.

You will be able to buy tickets on the day, but it really helps us with planning if you order them in advance.  However we will only be able to accept cash or cheque (with guarantee card).   The exhibition hall will be open throughout the day so you can come just for part of the day and still get lots out of it.

Yesterday, we had another look at the Warwick Complex at Stoneleigh, where the convention will take place and have planned where the different workshops will be taking place.  Some workshops will be limited in numbers due to the size of the rooms.

We are getting some fantastic press coverage about the convention, from a huge range of publications.

Hope to see you there.

  1. Nick, that would be because we are still waiting for the promised investment in high speed broadband which will facilitate video conferencing throughout the country.

It is frustrating enough to have to spend 5 minutes watching a one minute You Tube clip via (allegedly) recently upgraded broadband, but a day-long convention …?

  2. After running the campaign through local meetings and the internet for nearly a year, one national convention for networking purposes seems not unreasonable.

  3. why dont you have your convention via teleconferencing and that way nobody would need to travel. this is after all one of your main objections to hs2 !
